Curious

Just a random question.... I was told by the LFS that if a fish dies to leave it in the tank for the crabs and stuff to eat... that it was good for them part of the "circle of life" so to speak... Whats your opinion on this?? Personally i remove dont really like the sight of a fish being eatten (not that i have had lots die) but is it really good for the crabs??

No, this is generally not a good idea, as it adds waste and excess nutrients to the system. This can lead to Algae and Cyano blooms.

Normally it won't effect your tank to leave it in there, but I always remove it if I can find it. I don't get too worried if I can't find it though.

I agree with Wiskey. I get it if I don't have to tear the tank apart. I have used a powerhead to blow them out from under the rocks if I can do it without disturbing the sand too badly.

It also depends on the size of the fish, system size and filtration.

If the fish is that big, I have no trouble finding it

In my 58, I just let my green brittle take care of the mess...

He usually gets to it faster than I can anyway.
