Curing liverock question

I am getting liverock on Friday UPS thats fresh uncured. Should I use RO/DI water to mix the salt with for the trashcan that I am curring my rocks is or does it really matter just for curring my rocks? I will be doing water changes every few days while curing and also I will run my Remora Pro skimmer on it. I just want to use water from the hose because its outside and easier. I am just wondering if the silica and other bad stuff would be in the rock if I dont use RO/DI?

WHAT DO YOU THINK????

Jay

Liverock on sale at Marinedepo.com. $159 shipped for Figi premium rock.

Also DR MAC has a sale on his droppshipped rock for 99 bucks plus shipping which is another 75 bucks from him. Just FYI

If you have the Ro water there, it wouldn't hurt. I don't think that it will matter that much of you are going to be doing water changes on a regular basis. There is one catch though, there is a good chance that some of the nitrates and phosphates in the tap water with "absorb" into the rock.

If it were me and I had the RO water, I would use it.

One thing I would be more worried about is the Clorine and Copper in tap water, that may kill off some of your "life".

I would use RO, but I think I would dissconect the DI to avoid waisting it.
