Hi, ever since my little a. ocellaris's mate jump out of the tank and into the carpet, I have been looking for a replacement for my poor bachelorette. Since my LFS hasn't gotten any (small) perculas in lately, I've been looking into cross breeding. The other species of clownfish I am most interested in is the
maroon clown. However, I have noticed that these grow much larger than other clowns and are actually of a different genus (
Premnas instead of the usual
Amphiprion). Would it be possible to cross-breed these two types of clownfish together? Has anyone had any experience with this? Or, does anyone know of some good articles, etc. on this topic? If the maroon clown is physically impossible, what about maybe a black onyx percula or a
tomato clown. Those are the other two types that I am interested in. Any help or imput would be greatly appreciated because I am very interested in doing something like this. Thanks!
