CPR Continous Syphon Overflow Fix

First off I know that most of you have pre drilled tanks and this probably doesn't apply to alot of people out there but anyway. There has been alot of bad reviews on this CPR overflow in different forums. The problems is: the tube used from overflow top to the power head once inserted goes down too far into the exuast water flow from power head. Thus, not pulling the excess air from the chamber of the overflow which in turn the overflow does not keep the syphon going and soon you will have a room full of salt water and the nice beach aroma in your house! To fix this problem cut a small pie shape out of the end of tube that will be inserted into the power head and this will allow the air to be pulled out of overflow chamber!! Ta Da You should have a little gasp of bubbles every couple of seconds which is a sign that the powerhead is doing its job for the overflow to work!! Give it a try I hope this helps somebody that has had the misfortune of having a overflow in the house FE Gunny Sends

CPR Fix

The CPR Over flow is in the Premiumaquatics.com under Overflows. I don't have a picture of the Fix. I just realised that the tube may be going all the way to the bottom of the powerhead exhaust section not allowing the force of the water pull air out of the overflow cyphon area. So cutting a little section out of the tip end of the supplied tube, it allows the tube to be drawn all the way down into the power head port but still allows the air to be pulled out through the tube making the cyphon action continue to do its job.

CPR Fix

I have the CS100 and it happened to me...I was just lucky enough to in the room when i noticed a different sound...on further inspection I noticed the water level in the tank was maxing out and starting to cover the top. An Associate of mine has the CS90 and left for the weekend....he had the "Beach Smell" in the Tank Room from where his Overflow stopped the cyphon. I'm not saying that this happens to everybody but the word out on the street is that these Overflows Suck. I for one Like Idea of how it works and continues to work after power lose or what ever. Just wanted to put out some info for those that might be having problems with theirs. How long have you had your CS90 Mike Mersot??
