Could I make my in sump Euro Reef External?

If I put the pump in the sump itself then used tubing to plumb the the Euro Reef CA6-1 externally would that work? Im just thinking the pump might not be powerfull enough and the efficiency would be lost.

What size pump would you use if it was in the sump? If it's the same size - it'll work. If you use the rated pump for it, it would make no difference if it's in or out. Just have to plumb it differently, raise the output a little higher.
