No they are not aggressive, that was kind of a joke about the damsel. They are usually very retiring, and spend minimal time in the open compared to the full size Pterois spp. They like to eat live food and will generally need to be trained to accept frozen/dead/prepared food to provide a complete diet, if you are buying a non-juvenile specimen they might already be eating prepared foods, have your LFS show you what it eats and watch it feed.
Very personable, fun to feed, very mellow fish, and hardy as all get out. Once acclimated to your system, they are very disease resistant.
