Coris wrasse vanished
I purchased a coris wrasse today and placed it in my tank. It swam around for about two minutes then freaked out in the sand and I haven’t seen it for about five hours. I read that they can burrow in the sand but how long will they stay there?

I think it is possible for them to stay in the sand for long periods of time...many, many, many hours.

They hide when frightened and my C gaimard sleeps in the sand at night. This is totaly normal. They seem to have a bit of a personality disorder but you will see him/her again. They just dont like to be hawrassed

if there is a sand bed they will sleep in the sand bed all night. if no sand bed they will sleep in a hole in the LR. make sure you have a a tight fitting lid, they are prone to jumping. more so in a BB tank than a sand bed tank, but still most carpet surf.

It's perfectly normal for them to hide in the sand, it's what they do in the wild for protection. If you can peek under your tank and if it has a glass bottom, you can usually spot them against the bottom glass.
