This helped me somewhat. At the bottom of the page it list aggressiveness of each coral. I had no idea what was agressive and what wasn't. Best I can recommend is those that you know are aggressive, give them there space and put the less aggressive more together. I have a hammer and a torch on opposite sides of the tank. Neither has ever extended sweepers which is good for my other corals. Maybe if they don't feel threatened they don't respond defensivly. This is just my opinion and experience. Hopefully someone else can give a little more info.

Sometimes corals of the same genus can touch without fighting, i.e. euhyllids (torch, hammer, frogspawn). But most of the time one of the corals will kill or badly hurt the other.
Corals of the same species can definately be in contact with each other, some will actually grow together; but usually the tangled mess will turn the color of one of the two that are joined.
It's best just to keep everyone apart; chemical warfare sucks.

Okay so is frogspawn and torch the same or not? I was told torch is less agressive tho are in the same family? I plan on fragging them as they grow no matter what to be on the safe side.

They aren't the same, they are in the same genera (Euphyllia). Sometimes they can touch (sweepers, not constant touching) each other without any problems, other times one of the corals reacts badly. It's good to keep them from ever touching, but you may safely get away with intermittant contact.

If they're not the same specimen, keep them individually separated. It's safer that way!

Okay good. Like I said these guys to date havn't sent out sweepers but I always keep an eye on them. Thats the fun part. I know my hammer's skeleton is still deviding which may be why he is being nice. I actually look forward to him being open fully again. I do see fragging being very necessary cause he is as large closed now as when he was open before his heads split so I am pretty sure when that skeleton devides all the way he's gonna be huge!

I was told from my LFS that torch, hammer and frogpawn can be placed close to each other. In fact, their display tank has all three next to each other and look very nice, and their torch extend really long but hammer and frogpawn next to it are great (and very nice color too, pink and neon green).

My hammer (It's really an anchor) didn't like being next to my torch AT ALL! Within 2 days it had retracted totally and wouldn't extend until I moved him 6 inches further away.

My hammer and torch touched last night and the hammer took a few tenticles from the torch when I seperated them. Hopefully the torch will be ok...I think it will.
