Corals.. How close is to close?

Question..... Have a bubble, green zoas, red mushrooms and a Kenya tree on the bottom of the tank in a relatively medium/low flow area. They have only been in about 3 weeks and I start everything new on the bottom and work it up. They are about 3 inches apart in an area that is about 12 inches. The bubble while the flesh looks healthy and it will eat when fed direct has never fully opened. This is the second area I have had him in. A small 3" Kenya tree which normally grows like a weed in my tank will not open fully for the last 2 days. None of these corals have sweepers etc. other than the bubble but he cannot reach anyone. There are about 20 rics above them but they are about a foot up. Any idea if one of these guys might be irrated by another? Sorry for the silly question however all my water parameters are ideal. So I'm not sure what could be going on. Bubbles and a kenya tree should not be hard to keep! Thinking about pulling them out and dipping them again. They were dipped when put in. Any ideas?

Are you running any carbon in the system. There may be a chance that they are giving off chemicals that are irritating to each other. Usually I don't worry about my corals being too close to each other unless they are touching and I can see definite damage taking place; however, running carbon for a while can be a good way to remove any of the toxins if they are doing chemical warfare against each other instead.

Found the problem with the bubble. A small mushroom had relocated to the back of it almost under it. Took it out dipped it relocated mushroom, its opened up more than ever before. Crossing my fingers. Kenya tree closed up after the dip. Perhaps he'll open later.
I'm not running any carbon. Depending on what your reading some say its a good idea others say its a bad idea. Thinking of start to dose with vodka soon though. Havent totally made up my mind.
