Coralline algae

My tank has been operating for six months and I can't seem to get coralline algae to grow. It will start growing and then start to fade away. I check calcium and alkalinity once a week and both are at good levels. Any reason for this?

It does that especially in a newer tank. Sometimes elevated pO4 will inhibit the growth. Usually after the first year you wind up hating the stuff!

Dont worry about it, its like facial hair. when your a kid you want it, but once you get it and have to clean it up it becomes a chore.

Well that is a good way of describing it!
