Coralifr pure flo2 Auto shut off

Isn't this thing suposed to shut the water off all the way. It shuts off the water to the tank but it does not shut off the water that goes to waste.

Do I have something hooked up wrong?

I take it you are speaking about setting it up on a RO/DI filter...

If so, do you have the shut off solenoid on the supply line to the RO membrane, or on the main's water?

I have the line coming from the RO going to the floats valve plugged into the bottom of the "solenoid" and the line going from the last particulate canister going to the RO plugged into the top of the "solenoid".

Its seems to me that when the bottom of the solenoid builds up pressure after the float valve is closed it is supposed to push a rubber membrane up to close a small valve in the solenoid that is suppose to stop flow through the top of the solenoid. But, the problem I see with this design is that the line from the "clean" side of the RO is a lot less pressure than the mains line. It also appears That the rubber membrane is on a 1:1 ratio. I would think that that would cause the mians line pressure to override the pressure in the "clean" RO line.

If your RO/DI is setup with a pressure shut off, you can hook the solenoid on the ouput side of the RO/DI unit. It will close, the pressure will build up for a min or two in the RO/DI then shut off the system. It just takes a few mins. to do this. If you having a problem with that you can hook the solenoid to the input of the RO/DI unit and the water will totally shutoff for good.

Check these items from spectrapure, one of them should hve the info on wht you need, you may have to make a few extrapolations to your particular equipment:

Ohp, I think you hit it there Tom. The directions in this system specifically state directions on the flow restrictor, In the directions I have there is no mention of the flow restrictor. I will put that in tonight and see where it is. I bet that is the problem. I was wondering how they could get a lower presser side to push a solinoid to close off a higher pressure side on a 1:1 ratio. The flow restrictor limits the waste water pressure and increases the good water pressure. I hope thats it.
