Coralife Super Skimmer 65
I've been in the market for skimmers for my 10 gallon, and I have a few questions. I'm currently looking at a CSS-65, but wanted to know if it was over kill for a 10 or if I could hang it off the side or back of a Aqua Clear 110.
Thanks in advance.

It's not over kill in my opinion to have that skimmer on a ten gallon, but you might not like how much space the pump and bubble diffuser take up in a tank of that size.

Is that a power filter? If so, the answer is no. It does require a good bit of space for the pump. You don't need a bubble diffuser though it does help reduce the microbubbles. I use a CSS65 in my sump for a 30 gallon display and it works well. I did the wire mod and it works even better

umm imo yes a css is overkill on a 10 gallon tank. although its not really a bad thing for your skimmer to be overkill.

Yes, but a big one, it provides all the water flow for my tank(if that tells you anything). Its about 13 inches long by 7 inches wide.

really hard to say on a 10 gal tank. what do u plan on keeping in there? myself on a tank that size id probably not use a skimmer because waterchanges would be so easy to do

You might be able to fit the pump in there but honestly, I'm not sure how well it will work. The skimmer pump moves a lot of water into the reaction chamber and then back out. If you place the pump in a small space, you will risk overflowing the space. You would also be running a recirculating skimmer in a way (may be good or bad). I think acua c makes a nano skimmer that might work. Personally, I think the CSS 65 would be fine depending on what you want to keep and how much you like to feed.

I've got a bad cyano problem right now, and the water changes arn't cutting it right now. Im stock with the typical corals a pistol shrimp, YW goby and a small spotted hawkfish.
I took a look at the Aqua C Nano Remora, looks nice, may have acually changed my mind because of its small size. Little more expensive though (but who said this hobby was cheap. lol )
