Coralife 220 Super Skimmer

ok....read numberous threads on this skimmer...

I own it....it has been running for 3 weeks now and it does not work as well as it did a week ago.

I have the return hose stuck in the bubble defuser box....but it is out of the water....should this be in the water?
Should I take the box out and just use a pre filter?
Do I shove the hose under water or leave it above?

I do not have to worry about bubbles getting into the display bacause or my sump set up.

Suggestions?
Thanks guys & gals

I have mine in my sump, without the diffuser box just the outflow hose stuck down in the water, and no bubble problems in the main tank,

Your welcome, this style of skimmer is very sensitive to back pressure, so if you try to stick it down in the water all the way and it still dont work that well, you can cut the outflow tube a little at a time to get it where you like it, also i have found that the depth of the pump it's self make's a difference the closer to the water surface the better they work.
Brent.

Yes they are good and I think the biggest problem I have ever heard about them Brent coverd. If You have high calcium levels You will have to clean the venturi often. I had to about very week when I had my calcium reactor on the same tank, I removed the reactor to place on another tank and the problem stopped.

I actually had issues with the back flow...as soon as the return was in the water there was a surge. It would return to normal than surge again. Cyclical.

I have it just out of the water and she works fine.
