Coral growth supplements? Coral Accel?

At a local LFS I was told that Kent-Marine Coral Accel is great for corals, but the side of the bottle says not to start using it until your tank is established for 1 year. I do not really understand what it does, but it claims to supply marine lipids to the corals. Does anyone have expereince/recommendations with this or other liquid coral growth supplements?

Agreed you don't need it, it's only kent good marketing. water changes with a good quality salt mix or NSW will provide all the nutrients your corals need.

Not to say photoautorophs won't benifit, but phyto should only be added when you have heterotrophs; also only added SPARINGLY, not as much as the bottle recommends. The off the shelf phyto is practically bottled phosphate, lots of preservatives are needed to keep it from spoiling at room temp. Live phyto is the only way to go IMO.

Thanks for the advice. I kind of got the feeling he might have other motives than to just help my tank flourish.
