Coral Banded ??

I bought a coral banded shrimp a few days ago and introduced into my tank. Everything seemed fine but when I came home tonight I noticed he is missing one of his large claws? I have a maroon clown, a pepermint shirmp, a bubble tip anonome and some mushrooms but thats it. Also I have some rather large bristle worms. Any idea what could have happened to his claw??

they are not smart at all. he could have walked into the anenome and lost the claw. it will come back when he molts

CBS are actually quite fragile, their claws fall of very easily. Like Tim said it will grow back when he molts.

Cb's when frightenned enough can actually willingly drop their claws, much like a lizard can detach its tail....like mentioned above it may take a few molts but with proper care, it will completely recover

When I first got mine he had a little battle with an arrow crab and lost one of his claws. Within a few weeks you couldn't even tell.

CB's and arrows will usually fight to the death , except for in large tanks with lots of hiding spaces....

i'd place my bet on the clown protecting its host. the CB probably investigated its new home a little too close to the anemone...

I had one that kept attacking my anenome...killed a lot of its tenticles. well, eventually the anenome got him, and he dropped both his claws. he will be fine. I was reading about them, and when they are scared or stressed out, they will drop claws. if he hasn't been fighting, I would make sure he is comfortable (i.e., lots of hiding places).
