Copper in a 20g

I have a 20g that I used for a QT for 4 days on a Powder Blue with ICH, he didn't make it. I dosed with Coppersafe for for those 4 days. Afterwards, I bleached the tank and rinsed it out very well.

I now want to set it up as a small reef with 2 maroon clowns and softies. DO you think the copper had enough time to soak into the seals in just 4 days?

Its tough to say. One thing you could try is fill it with water and let it sit for awhile and test it for copper. The copper will get into the silicone and slowly leech out. For the price of a new 20g I would personally feel better getting a new one so I didn't have to worry about it down the road. You could then keep that one as a hospital/quarantine tank when needed.

I would keep the 20 as a QT, you might keep soft corals in it with no problems BUT responsible reefing means doing everything you can to insure the health of the animals you adopt and that pretty much means NO COPPER with any inverts.
Not to rub salt into the wounds further but a 20g tank is way too small for a pair of Maroon clowns, they can get 6" easily and are among the most territorial and aggresive of the clownfish. The females can be the epitome of B*****ness and in less than a 55 with plenty of rockwork, the smaller male can be in serious jeapordy. Getting them small and raising them together is no guearentee, one of the pair will turn female and theres no reasoning with hormones after that, sorry
