Consolidating tanks after the crash what to do with sandbed

I am in the process of consolidating my 50gal and my 110. I have been moving the LR into the 110 sump a few pieces per day for the last week. I figure by the weekend I will be able to shut down the 50 and eventually turn it into a huge sump. It had been running for about 4.5 months when it crashed. Can the DSB be salvaged? Or has it accumulated too many toxins by now?

you can try and do a cleaningof it, this woudl include cooking it ..really cooking it.. heat..dryingit out and washing it.. or just pick up new sand.

Toss it and start over with new, NOT live sand. It is SO not worth it, I think anytime you ahve an easy opportunity to replace your sand you should regardless if the tank crashed or not.

if it is going to be in a sump and can be vacuumed out later, than i think that it does not matter if it is only 4.5mo old. if it were a year or more i would say chuck it, but something that young still has some absorbing to do.
