Cone Snail?

I have what I think may be a cone snail. It's been in the tank for a long time. I didn't find out until this evening that they are very dangerous. I'll try and get a pic in the next few days. As soon as he reappears.

Should I remove him? My thought would be yes, but what is your take?

Tonights the first night I haven't seen him in quite some time. It's a small one (about 3/4") Dark shell but has some white spots. I remember his foot is rectangular and very narrow. I'm wanting to think the foot was red, but I'm not 100% on that.

I'd feel bad if I sold him and someone got hurt or worse yet died!

Zoas are alot more deadly than snails in my opinion. you have to touch the cone of the snail to die.the zoas can put toxins in the water, or you could just get there slime in a cut & get killed. The main thing is caution. if you know something is deadly DONT touch it.& if you are scared of it.get rid of it.just my 5 cents worth.lol

cone snails can actually attack you with a spear, and deadly poisenous zoas are kinda hard to come by, of course, so are cone snails.

Dude, kill it, then find some way to rot the flesh out of it. Those shells are gorgeous!

zoas are poisonous. care needs to be taken with them. expecially if pets and small children are in the house. do not put zoas in a bucket than leave the bucket on the floor where either can get to it. drinking the water that they are in can lead to some serious illness or worse.

after a bucket or container has had zoas in it, wash it out thoroughly.

i also doubt it is a cone snail, but i have seen some pretty unussual stuff in this hobby.

They are only collectible as an empty shell
