cone snail?

I am really trying to ID this thing. Is this pic good enough for anyone here to tell me if this is a cone snail or not?

Its not a cone snail. Looks like a tonga nassarius. Keep an eye on him. If he gets too hungry i have seen them kill and suck other snails out of their shells.

Ok if it is a tonga nassarius snail. What is the difference from a regular nassarius snail. Because i have ten of the nassarius snail and the shell looks like this one but the body is not black like the one in the pic. Mine look more white with little gray spots.

this is mine

Isn't that the snail that killed your other snail right before your very eyes?

yes, this snail attacked and sucked another snail right out of its shell the same day I put him in the tank.

So why is it still in your tank?
Cook it up with some butter and garlic!

He is no longer in my tank, he is in my fuge, there is nothing in there for him to kill. I put him in there until I find out what he is. If he is a cone, then he will be history.

there are many different species of Nassarius snails. they are all welks so they are all meat eaters. you could very well have one that enjoys other snails.

the shell looks closer to the Nassarius than the cone, but not by much.
