Colt Vs. Tube Anemone...

Colt Vs. Tube Anemone...

During the recent tank upgrade my Colt coral and tube nem had it out...as you can see from the area in the center, the Colt lost the battle....It seems to be healing though.

the colt should heal up no problem but t hose tube anemones surely pack a punch

Ive had one for a couple of years and it has prettymuch been the agressor as well as the clear winner in any conflict I have seen. Even against a hydnophora.

I have always kept the nem in a spot where it could not reach anything so this is my first "injury". I had the nem in a cottage cheese tub of sand in the sump while we where moving tanks. I thought the nem would be PO'd enough that it would not open. Not only did it open but it opened so fully that it reached over the top of the tub and got the colt. The colt does seem to be looking better all the time...I'll just keep turkey bastering the slime off a couple times a day.

In my vast expericen of owning one.......this tube I have is about as agreesive as they come. he just will hang out nicly spread.....but if anything is within several inches of what you think is his maximum spread..........he will surprise you and get there anyway

He likes his own personal bubble space for sure

just a couple weeks ago I actually lost a couple of really nice polyps I put a little too close to him
