CLS Running all the time??

I Have a Closed Loop System running all the time and was wondering if anyone runs theres all the time as well? I just got a Neptune AC3 Pro and have the ability to turn this off and on whenever I want. I Have a hammerhead running the system with 8 outputs on the tank, pretty standard CLS. I just wanted to know if turning this off for a period of time during the night would be good and if anyone else runs theirs on a timer.

Thanks
Mike

that water starts dying quick if it isnt circulated, and the ph gets dangerously low.

This is of course more or less important dependiong on how much pipe you actually use for your CLS.......... But if I shut my closed loops off for more than a few hours I dump the lines before I will put it back into the tank.

OCD a little........yes, but just the same, for kicks while not a bunchof animals are in the tank........go ahead and shut it off for 6 or 8 hours...then crack one of your unions by the pump and smell the water.

If you dont have rock and water flowing you of course cant do this......im not sure if you do or dont yet....need to go look at your build thread...

I bet you wont consider shutting off the cls on purpose again

Very good point. I did not think of that one. I think that I will keep it running. Just turned it back on. I can only imagine that the lines would just suck after about 1 hour and then to blow that back into the system would be not so good.

Thanks
Mike
