Clowns question

Hi all, I was wondering if I wanted 2 clowns to get along good, would it be better to buy a mated pair? Or get two juveniles and roll the dice and hope they like each other?

Get 2 very small males and one will turn to a female. She will beat the male up but he likes it. Clowns are into S&M.

They don't need an anemone but if you want one just add it when your tank is very stable.

If you can care for an anemone... Get one before, get it acclimated and stablized then add the clowns. Clowns can make it difficult to acclimate an anemone.

I don't recommend that people put an anemone in a tank with corals. The anemone can just decide to take a walk and wipe out what ever it walks across. I suggest setting up a species tank for them and don't have any powerheads in it... They work like a blender on a roaming anemone. Get clarks clowns to maximize hosting odds... Not all cowns will host an anemone especially tank raised. Clarks are the most likely success chance and they will go in almost any anemone... Otherwise you'll need to research which clowns are mative to which anemones to maximize success. I don't know off hand but I believe occelarus go in magnificas and 999 out of 1000 people can care for one. GSMs go in bubbles and they are the easiest out of the hosting anemones. Clarks will go in them too. I'm not saying that no other clowns will host any other anemones but it gets to be really hit and miss and more miss than hit.

Hmm good info..I knew they could roam a bit,but diden't think they had happy feet (or foot lol)Would they walk across substrate ? I was thinking maybe making a little island of a rock for the anemone on the substrate to put off the anomone from wandering alot..

People do that. Some anemones live in the sand a common one is an LTA.
