clowns


i had a pair that i got about a week ago it looked as if they were swimming alot together then last night i came home and my BTA killed my little clown what happened that anem kill a clown can some one explain

40 gal tank 7 weeks old new to the hobby nem looks great

I imagine something happen to the Clown, I don't think the anenome killed it. Like Kelli asked was the clowns hosting in the anenome?

I'm so sorry for your loss, welcome to TRT - I haven't ever had an anemone kill a clown, but I've had the opposite happen (larger clown killed a smaller anemone).

Welcome to TRT! I'm sorry to hear that I had the same thing happen to me, and I had to end up getting clowns that are a bit larger. I think tank raised clowns that are really small may not quite know what to do and dive in too quick/get stunned. The fish biild an immunity to the anaminies sting,.. and if they've never been around one they have to be carefull at first.
