Hi everybody!
I've been reading this website for many, many hours since I discovered it last week and I hope some of you can help me with a couple question.
Two weeks ago I bought a pair of Maroon Gold Clownfish. They seem to get along very well and they were all over my 100 gallon aquarium. Last week the little clown adopted my open brain as his new home and they seemed to do great.
Three days ago my big clownfish stayed in a cave and didn't come out anymore since then, not even for feeding and he usually was the first one to come grab the food. For 4 days now he is just staying in the opening in the rocks, not coming out at all during the day. He doesn't seem sick, looks good, isn't breathing fast, everything seems normal. Yesterday I managed to have him eat a little using the turkey baster to get the food inbetween the rocks.
As soon as the lights go out he leaves the cave and spents the night with the little clownfish but as soon as the lights come on again he quickly goes back into the cave.
I tried leaving the lights of for a day but as soon as I turned them on again he dissapeared again.
It doesn't look like the others (1
Regal Tang, 2 Banggai's, 1 Royal Grammy, 2 firefish and 2 lawnmowers) bother him so I wonder what is going on and what I should do. Just wait and see?
My second question is that since the little clownfish adopted the open brain I haven't been able to feed it. It doesn't want to take the food I offer it (Formula One). How is the best way to feed it, how often and what? Could it be that it doesn't want to eat anymore because of the little clownfish rubbing against it all the time?
I am sorry this is so long but wanted to make sure I gave enough details.
