I've heard that maroon's can be trickier than other clowns but I'd get two small ones that are similar in size and add them at the same time... give them some spots to hide and they should be fine

Will they fight before they become a pair?

Possibly but from my experience with oscellaris if they are introduced simultanously and similar size your odds are much better than if introduced at different times and if one is larger

i can not remember off the top of head right now, but i can give you the ghist. you want two clowns of significant different size. the larger, i think the female, needs to be dominant in order for it to work. if they are close in size than they will fight until one becomes dominant. if they are already large than they may have already become sexually mature and may not be able to switch back.

i will try and do a search and hunt down more about this.

Geoff

do you think that's a better way to go than get the two little ones or does it depend on type of clown? When I had ocsies of different size the big one just beat continously on the small one...

maroons are pretty different from false percs Cosine ideally what you want to do is get one about 3.5"+ and the other 1" or less I did that with mine they were swimming together in 3 days. Now with white stripes the aggression is even worse.
