On a side note, guy at Petco told me today that a trigger will go in a reef tank.

there are exeptions to every rule.
the clown is not one of them though.

that opens up an old can of worms...
one question why the ^&%^#$ would you go get SW fish advice from petco, it was problaay some teenager who told you that because their gonna fire him if he doesn't get a sell..... (their are some triggers which are known to be friendly in a reef environment but its a gamble with the odds not in your favor dude)
-heres a lagit. question though, what about a sohal tang in a 140g with minimal rock work....

if it is a long tank than that should be fine. you will want to make sure it is the last fish added. they are rather mean tangs.

A friend of mine has a model-citizen blue- jaw trigger in his reef ... but that's probably the only kind I'd risk it with.
Certainly never a clown ... though having seen the size they grow to - I wouldn't put one in a tank anyway ...

that is a little short for a tang of that size. i was thinking it was more along the lines of a 6' tank. that is what i would consider minimum for tang of that size.

darn, my tanks big enough but not the one I'm setting up...
on a later note (i hope this doesn't offend)
I went into PetCo just to look a round and the guy who was running the SW department said he didn't kno anything about it and that their selection was bad, he said I should go to China Town, ("they would hook me up if I asked to go to the back room, any kind of shark, alligator or pirrahna I wanted")
I couldn't keep a straight face
-he wasn't a teenager
