Clown ripping at corals????

Anybody ever had their clown violently ripping at a coral???

Ive had this clown for over a year and never notiuced him do anything besides hanging out by his anemone and of course running to me come feeding time.
I was just walking by the tank(lights off of course), and i noticed this gorgonia i picked up a few weeks ago move suddenly out of the corner of my eye.......my clown was violently grabbing branches of him and pulling them several inches before letting go.......i had noticed a cou0ple fo the branches looking a little beat up a couple fo days ago but it was slight so i didnt think much about it until i saw that......?????

Weird. Theres another gorgonia just like it that has been in the same tank as the clown for almost as long as ive had the clown and hes never done it to that one. you can see a couple fo the tips thrashed...not too bad...but still thrashed in this pic i took a couple of days ago........at the time i didnt know why......

????? Odd. Just curious if anyone else has had that happen.

I have noticed that some clowns I get before settling into a new anemone or what ever he decides to live in will beat the crap out of it for a short period of time. I don't know why they do it some of them just do. My tank bred ocelerous are just starting to warm up to one of my quadricolors and the female (I presume) is really putting a beating on it. The anemone doesn't even care though I am sure the story is slightly differant with your george-o-nia.

Funny thing is that his anemone is 5 feet away on the other side of the tank and when the lights are on do i seldom see him anywhere but right next to his home.......except for lunch time........

Kind of funny.......but if he doesnt stop im going to banish him AND his anemone to the sump for a time out

Try relocating the greg-o-rian and move a couple rocks around in his normal spot. He may get lost and forget all about it.

Thats easier said than done. There really isnt anywhere to move anything in that tank until the 90 is up and running. I was kidding about banishing them to the sump....if the gorgonia gets beat up thats just how its going to be
