Hi does anyone know if adding calcuim or reef builder cause your tank to be cloudy? My tank was crystal clear the other day and now its somewhat hazy. Thanks and Merry xmas!

Adding calcium or a ph buffer can cause clouding. It should clear. You need to check to see what your level of calcium and alk is. Your calcium should be somewhere between 350 and 450. If it is over 500 you could be getting some precipitation. your alk should be around 130 ppl or between 8 and 12 depending on your test. If you are using oceanic salt like I am you probably need to add little to no calcium because oceanic has high levels of cal in the mix. If the levels are real high the only thing to do is some water changes to bring down the levels. You also could wait if the levels are not too high. The danger is burning your corals some and your fish wont like it much. Hope this helps
