cloudy, smelly water .....

my water is cloudy and getting cloudier and it seems to smell a little foul. now my mushrooms look to be sickly. anyone have any idea what could be causing it? salinity 1.025 nitrite 0 nitrate 5 ammonia 0 ph 8.0. i thought maybe it was the additives that i put into the tank but it looks to have gotten worse.

Sounds like something died. Do a water change right away and plan on another soon.

I had a starfish die in a low-flow area of my sump a number of months ago. I opened a valve during a water change and was knocked over by the stench. If it's stinky, look for something that's dead.

My water was smelly awhile back (but not cloudy) I posted a thread and someone suggested I syphon water out of my sump when I do my water changes. I syphoned water out of the sump and the smell went away now its part of my water changing routine.

I would suggest a cheap skimmer at least. But that would help a bunch!
