cleaning an old tank

after spending half of forever tryign to scratch corraline algea off an old tank with my finger nail. is there a better way? would vingear help dissolve or soften it at all?

What I have done is just fill the tank with water.....Let it sit for an hour or 2 and go to town with a razor blade. Works great.

I do the razor blade trick too,.. but I've also sprayed it down with viniger in a spray bottle every few minits,.. after an hour or so it softens right up, then a credit card takes it off easily.

I filled my tank up with water and dumped vineger in the tank, then it will almost rub off with your hands. But a razer or cc works good also.
