cleaning after brown yuck bloom

As my Tank developed brown stuff everywhere from supposed cured Live rock I added on sunday, what can I do to clean it up with changing the atmosphere for the inhabitants, I did a 10% water change today and will do another in 5 or so days, besides that what else can I do to clean the rocks besides dunking, I got a turkey baster today but after the water change, can I use it before next change and then change water?

patience and water changes is what it took for me to get rid of that. I don't know of any other means of getting rid of it except hiring a couple turbos. but it wouldn't take much less time for it to go away naturally than with the snails. Mine came a couple weeks after setup and went away in about 3 weeks with weekly water changes

this is why we suggest sitting on your hands for the first 2 months of setting up a reef tank. there are a lot of ugly algae blooms that happen. there is nothing really you can do, but wait them out. if you do not have anything in the tank, than it is easier to just sit and watch.

Yes I should have known better but lsitening to my LFS bit me in the rear, I will not make the same mistake twice I have 45lbs LR from Live awuaria that I put in my 29G tank yeterday to cure, which I will make water changes and wait until it is ready before transferring it to my 125, as it is the current Fish load are doing fine.

VERRY smart move.

Welcome to the Zen of Reef Aquaria...

curing new live rock
makes for clean aquaria
when sitting on hands

that and buying a good Deloach 2001 barrel-select chardonnay...
