whooohooo a double Welcome to both of you!

Welcome to TRT!!!

water and vinegar are a great suggestion. if you need more umph then try salt. it makes a good abrasive that it safe, especially if you use the sea salt. i have used both and it all depends what you are getting off the tank. vinegar is great for the old coraline and other crusties. the salt is great for the grown in algaes. i also use one of those not treated plastic scrubbing pads. make sure they are not treated in any way. these are great at basic cleaning when even more abrasion is necessary. be carefull with the pads and the salt on acrylic tanks, they can scratch.

First thing ,,,,
WELCOME TO TRT!!!!!
now that we got that over with,,,
the tank , is it glass, or acrylic?
glass-you can be a lil more aggressive in cleaning, still ,,,,not too much with a green scrubbie pad,,,still can score the glass,,
the vinegar trick is the way to go,,,,
acrylic- there is a lot of products out there that can fix you up nicely,,,
what kind of cleaning do you need to do?
just the normal crud clean up?
or do you have a major mineral build up going on?
give us more info,,,,,,,,and we will all try to help,,,
again, welcome to TRT,,,i think and hope you will enjoy your stay here,,,
