Clams

The family and I were at Panama City Beach yesterday and while we were enjoying our stay there, my daughter (6Yrs) started noticing that when the waves went back out there were tons of tiny little clams that were washed up by the waves and would quickly start wiggling there way back into the sand. They looked pretty cool so we collected a few and threw them into the display at home. Now I know I should have researched them before doing this but I just cant say no to my daughter. Now, has anyone seen these clams? Or know what species they might be, good, bad, ugly? The majority of them were white, but some were kind of peach and white striped. Any thoughts?

filter feeders, you might try phyto9plankton, but in the long run, this will probably be a prblem creature in a tank with corals, especilly stony corals. I would limit them to a DSB lagoonal tank with soft corals due to the filterfeeder nature of these clams. Maybe not the exact clam, but hetre is link and a recipe...

Clams

Well They lasted about a month and a half. What didn't die off and get eaten got killed and eaten by my hermit crabs. They seem to love to dig em up and crack em open and eat em up.
