clam up?

hey all...
i have a ? regarding the best position for clams. i never really gave it much though, and was wondering if its best for them to have the mantle pointing up (verticle) towards the light, or flat (horizontal). should it be positioned inline and laterally with the current flow? any opinions or experience?
thx in adv.!

I would like to know if there is a general rule here as well, I know that I tried a lot of different positioning for my maxima, and it kept flipping itself over until i placed it mantle up, right under the MH, with its lateral line paralell to the current so the mantle didnt blow around too much., once in that position it finally tied itself down and has not budged since.

Clam?

We put our Maxima on hte sand and on a rock. He finally pt down his foot. But he turned from how I had him for viewing. We had a powerhead behind the LR and he turned (lg opening) straight towards the flow. Pretty cool watching him actually turn

Good luck!
