Clam question????

I saw a pic of a hang on refugium like mine with a clam in it.Is that possible with only 18w of light in the small cpr hang on?Would'nt the chaetomorpha get in the way of the light?

depends on the size of the clam. if the clam is less than 3" long than it mainly feeds on plankton and can be spot fed fairly easily in the back of one of the "fuges". below 3" they do not have the mantle area needed to support them with photosynthesis alone. as the clam gets closer to 3" it would need to be moved to a place with the proper lighting or it will starve.

I would not do it personally, now if you were to mount a small MH above the fuge it would probably work great.
