Question

clam placement


i am getting a small/medium crocea clam tonight and i have two questions. one can it be place right on the sand. its a 24g aquapod with 150w 14,000k hqi lighting. or should i glue it to a rock higher?

they like to be on the rock. You won't have to glue him. Place him up high and kinda brace him there and he'll stick himself to the rock. His glue is better than yours=)

do NOT glue him

if he doesnt like where you put him he will jump.......keep moving him until he likes it OR if you are insisitent about putting him in a certain place....he needs to be in a bowl shaped indent that he cant jump out of...he will attach, although I recommend not doing that and just keeping moving him until he likes it

another thing you can do, is to put a rock underneath him in the substrate. and either leave him there, or then once he attaches you can epoxy the rock where you want. although under 150's he will be happier higher

change of plans......kinda. I got a dursa clam. once i saw this thing i couldnt refuse it. i will get a pic of it tomorrow.

first pic is of my dursa clam. then my new pulsing xenias, and last my new serpent star. i needed to turn the light on to "burb" the clam so i just did the pics now. i couldnt wait either
