Christmas Tree for Christmas

I got an awesome rock with a TON of multi color christmas tree worms for christmas!! They are too awesome!!

AND I got a new CPR overflow too. Now (tapping my toe) where is that Mag Drive..... I wish the mail would hurry up and get it here.

If I dont see any of you in chat, Merry CHristmas and if you have to drive, please do so responisbly and safely, your fish/corals need to have SOMEONE keep feeding them.

Adrienne are Christmas Tree Rocks(worms) hard to keep alive over a period of time? I read info in reef books and comments made on reef boards, that they were hard to feed and keep alive.
I had one a couple years ago but it died out and would love to attempt it again. What are your plans on feeding it? Johnny

the LFS and all books I read say they are filter feeders. They supposedly like light ranging from low to high so they should be ok in most tanks. I will prolly target feed DT as well as a microvert food brand I cannot recall right now since its late and I am tired! As far as I know they are supposed to be pretty easy to keep. Of course, if they are hard to keep I will do just fine since I already have some things that people are not supposed to be able to keep alive for very long. Just dont give me a percula clown - I have no luck with the 'EZ keepers'.

I go sleepy, goodnight

I have had my "christmas tree" rock for about 7 months and I just dose dt's infrequently, they have grown a little, as far as propogating them, I have never seen any new ones, they could be around out of sight though. I think they go througha planktonic stage, so who knows if the babies would ever reach wormhood in the tank. Someone here might know better though. I didn't target feed them till here recently, but it doesn't seem to be making a noticeable difference. They grow pretty slow according to what I have read and observed, so target feeding is probably the way to go. (The porites they are colonating grows faster than the worms, and it grows pretty darn slow)
