Chlorine in RO water???

My kid works at a LFS and she supplies me with all my RO water. The store moved from one location 3 doors down to the new location. Since then, the RO water I have been getting smells like city water with chlorine in it.

Doesnt the RO process remove the chlorine?

It's the carbon that removed it before it get to the RO filter and DI, If they don't replace the carbon it will go pass and onto the RO and DI cartridges and can demage them which in turn will let it get by. I don't real;ly know if the RO/DI filters will get it all out even if they are in good condition

You will have to Check for Chlorine

Is it something to worry about? I have been using water like that for the past 3 weeks at gallon per day.

I'd bring it to the store's attention. I'd have that water tested just to make sure it's chlorine before you make any accusations though. If they don't do anything about it, I'd not get my water there myself. You can always use a product such as Prime to treat the water but pure RODI water is much better IMO.

Yup, sounds like testing is needed to make sure, and i think the LFS owner would honestly want to do that, and not deny anything is wrong right off the bat.
Either the carbon is exhausted , or maybe even something like a sytem line is routed the wrong way, possibly bypassing the carbon, who knows.
It affects you and whoever else is using that RO water, so i would think the owner would be concerned since i would not want to be the one responsible is something was "off" in making the RO to sell.

Keep us posted on what ends up w/ this,,
