chlorine and tds


does chlorine measure as tds?

Not sure but with RO/DI it takes it out and you get 0,but don't know if cloine has any TDS in it self. Good question,but you still don't want it in your tank anyway!

i assume it doesnt because chlorine is supposed to be taken out by the carbon pre filter yet the pre-filters dont really affect tds ...but i thought i would ask

It shouldn't as it's presence in water is on the elemental level as opposed to the mineral type elements, calcium, mag, .
Normally the carbon prefilters should take the chlorine out before the membrane so as not to compromise the membranes integrity. I have well water so I never sweated the carbon filters loading up with chlorine, but on muni water supplies it might be a good idea to change the carbon filter a little more often.
