Children of Reefaholics

My mother (cough cough Deborah cough cough)
suggested a new forum for Children of Reefaholics, maybe a Reefaholic's Anonymous board also.
"I don't like fish! But she forces me to sleep next to the tank!"

Hey Cornelius,

The only way to fight this is to get your own reef tank!

Mom (fishinchick) let me have a user name since there are other kids on the board.
I actually like fish and corals. I have a 35 gallon FOWLR tank. I have two green spotted puffers, a blue velvet damsel, and a Clarki clown. The damsel and the clown were kicked out of moms reef tank becuase they are mean, she says.
So they are my fish now.
I even saw a mushroom on my rocks the other day.

Hello everyone!!!!

Mom says that other kids can email me but they have to clear it thru her first. If you want to email me, talk to her.
ARE THERE REALLY OTHER KIDS ON THIS BOARD??? I AM 11 YEARS OLD.

MARY

Hi Mary:

I hope you'll be a positive influence on my renegade son "Cornelius" (if that's what he picks as a user name imagine what horrible name we really gave him )

"Cornelius" won't even let me drive near a LFS anymore. And no more trips to the aquariums, either.

Maybe he'll grow out of this phase in 10 years or so...

Ehe, thankies Spanky and Fishdaddy!

I could easily get into this, as long as I got to feed the Mudskippers!

WELCOME MARY!!

You certainly aren't the only "kid" on this board, and you'll not only learn a lot, but you'll have a good time, too.

I must share a story since Cornelius brought up the subject of "children of reefaholics", which, btw, gave me a great laugh!!

I had to attend an honors banquet and needed a more suitable dress for such an occasion....I found two on sale at a fairly expensive, IMO, store...I brought both home fully intending to return the one that the men in my family did NOT like...

Troy, a H.S. Junior at the time, said: Mom, get BOTH!
Me: No way, do you know what these cost?????

He shouts: Mom! Look! [points emphatically at the reef tanks] THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!!!! BUY THE DRESSES!!

Kids are great! They put things in perspective for us...

Perfect example of the pot calling the kettle beige!

Shirley, if that story falls into the wrong hands, we're all in trouble.

I think starting a kids forum, or club would be fun! Course if the kids got really interested in reefing, we could all be broke too!

I think it is awsome to see you youngsters on the board and getting intothis fantastic hobby. There is a world waitng to be discovered and you have come at a time ofchange in the hobby like there is in computers. I may have a couple kids in college, but I still fit in the kid catagory myself. Just ask my mom . Cornelius, guppy girl welcome to TRT!!!
