These skimmers suck- save your money up for a good skimmer. My prizm only lasted about 9 months- so if you get 6 more months of life out of it, then you are doing good. Is it worth it to you for a skimmer that will only last another 6 months if that?

They aren't very durable- a little plastic piece snapped off mine making it very hard to get back together- everytime I cleaned it, I always wondered if I could get it to work again. Also it started to leak around the pump- I guess the seal went bad. I guess that wouldn't be an issue if you keep it in the sump. I don't recommend wasting your money like I did.

Save your money and get something better, watch e=bay and do your weekly water changes and you'll do good till you get a REAL skimmer.
