cerith snails

i have a question about cerith snails and their egg laying habits. do ceriths lay eggs in home tanks? i have read that they will not do this that it is difficult to do. What type of water parameters do you need for the ceriths to lay eggs?

Thanks

they will lay eggs like crazy if the water is up to their liking. mine used to lay like crazy if the temp were to go up a degree for some reason. i guess they though spring was coming.

they also seemed to lay like crazy when my pH jumped up after a dosing.

I just shined my flashlight in with the lights off, and Ive got little snails all over the place they have white shells with black or blue looking stripes any idea what kind of snail this is. Ive got several types of snails in my tank, I cant remember what kind they are oh. Last week my cleaner shrimp released a bunch of baby shrimp right after the lights went off... now if only my sps corals would stop turning brown after theyve been in my tank for a few weeks....

Sometimes snails lay eggs when your tank parameters are in good shape. Sometimes snails lay eggs when your tank parameters are in very very bad shape as a last ditch effort to 'save the species'.

Corals will often do this too.

I have seen Astraea, Cerrith, Turbos, Nassarius and cowries lay eggs. The most common is Astraea and Nassarius.
