celebration purchase
well to celebrate my induction into the MoM vault, i decided to g on a little trip to.......no, not lowes. guess again.. YEP, the LFS
i was going to get zoo's, checked four different lfs and nobody had zoos well, one store did, but it was a massive colony and they wanted over 200 bucks for it.
so i got something else..
a very cool looking tomato clown (but i think it's a cinnamon clown) it has very dark, almost black sides, and great bright orange fins. i'll snap a pic in a bit.. the other purchase was umm, well, just something to go along with the clown, an lta i know i know i know.. dont yell. i HAD to celebrate ya know.
both acclimated for about 2 hours. they are in the tank now. i'll snap off a few pics in a bit.

ignore the algae on the back glass, it's just your imagination.

and here is the umm bed, yeah the bed i bought for the clown
it's NOT an anemone, it just looks like one. it's a very realistic bed, for clownfish, that is built to RESEMBLE an anemone

Jay that sure looks like a tomato! We had one and tried to put in another species and it got very aggressive and nearly killed the other clown. Tomato went back to LFS!
Don't know if you have strong enough light for the anenome!
Oh by the way! If you want a all red tomato, I can get ya one out of my grandmother's garden if ya like!!

weeeeelll i've got two vho's super actinic whites 220watts. and the No blue 40 watt, and the NO daylight 40 watt. for 300 watts.
but it's going to be VERY VERY VERY soon that i upgrade the tank size and when that happens, then i'm throwing the No's on a ref/sump and putting in MH's along with the vho's and also adding two more vho blues. so i'll have 440 watts in vho and however many watts i get for the mh's..
so i'm jsut keeping my fingers crossed. though i am prepared fora potential let down.
the only reason i thought it was not a tomato, is the black on the sides of the body. all the tomato's i've ever seen were all red , and the ones with black sides were labeled as cinnamons
i'm not a big fan of clowns, dont like the shimmy dance they do, buti like the tomato, swims more like a normal fish. wont be adding any other clowns either... the only other fish that will be added to the tank will be a small regal tang. dont plan to get anymore until the tank is upgraded. and that will probably come before the tang

Jay, you got a Cinnamon clown there... Cinnamon's have the tomato stripe marking with deep cinnamon sides and yellow or very light tan tails...
Here's my Cinnamon...

we had a tomato clown at the LFS when i was working there and it barely had that white stripe, it was just a little dot...we called it "Pirhanna (spelled it wrong i know) Clown" cause if you put your hand in the tank to collect snails or hermits for a customer the clown would go hysterical and try to eat your arm to pieces. he ended up hosting to a large featherduster lol

he learned to kinda hover over it just enough so it didn't contract, it eventually got used to the fish and would let him nestle between the whorls....
