Is it getting good water movement? Is it dying back from the base or the tips? I usually mistreat my corals in two ways: too much light(not enough acclimation) or too high of organics in the water (poor skimmer maintenance, delayed water changes)
I just recently got a big frag of a cats paw from my lfs, they'd gotten it in and held it for several weeks and then it started bleaching at the base. They get that a lot, with wild caught colonies. I took the frag and put it in a high water movement area, low in the tank and it is expanding quite nicely, with no more dieback.
