cat's paw coral dying

My green cat's paw coral has suddenly started to die back. I have 3 actinic bulbs and one white. My reasearch on the net showed that these guys were a relatively hardy and light tolerant species. Is there anything I can do to save this coral? Help!

Is it getting good water movement? Is it dying back from the base or the tips? I usually mistreat my corals in two ways: too much light(not enough acclimation) or too high of organics in the water (poor skimmer maintenance, delayed water changes)
I just recently got a big frag of a cats paw from my lfs, they'd gotten it in and held it for several weeks and then it started bleaching at the base. They get that a lot, with wild caught colonies. I took the frag and put it in a high water movement area, low in the tank and it is expanding quite nicely, with no more dieback.

It can be rebuilt.

i am guessing we are talking about a Pocillipora spp? i have one and it is a wicked fast grower. it does seem to be the most tolerant of all of my corals, but it does like a lot of flow. it needs it to get nutrients all the way through the coral head.

what are your Ca and alk levels?
