catfish lighting????? Anyone heard of it?
Hm, I've still been looking to up my lighting, and found a 65 watt fixture that is well within my price range. Only thing is I have never heard of that brand before. Has anyone had experience with them, or heard of experience with them?

Okay. I think I'll try it out. It's a really great price to pass up(free shipping, and the cost is about what I've found similar fixtures from coralife and sattelite priced at. . .

i think this is the link. I cant get on reef central here at work so I cant verify that the link would work reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?...&perpage=&pagenumber=1
if it doesnt then just go to yahoo.com and search for these words (catalina light fixture nightmare) and its the first link that pops up

Lights are like skimmers, IMO. If you skimp too much and buy really cheap stuff, you only end up throwing it away out of frustration and buying what you really needed in the first place. I have no knowledge of this particular brand, and there are always "good value" items out there (like the coralife super skimmer), but....you never know. Maybe you should stick to a major manufacturer for the lighting. I'd be worried about quality for something as critical and dangerous as lighting (I've heard about cheap lighting fixtures catch fire). JMHO

check to see if the product is ul listed, if you find a website for them, it should be there somewhere, ul listings basically mean they are deemed safe for public use, not a guarentee of super quality, but if its not listed, i would be skeptical.
