Cant keep a feather duster?

I have tried on several occasions to keep feather dusters. I will have them for a few weeks, then they just disappear never to be seen again. I was told that bristle worms will eat them, but I never saw any BW on them. Could it be the CB shrimp? or star fish? I have never seen anything bothering them and they always disappear at night. TIA
