Can't get new ballast to fire
Posted this a couple other places also but here goes-
I just recently purchased a couple SLS Tek T5 retro-kits, one came with a Workhorse ballast and the other came with a Advance Centium ballast. The Workhorse ballast fires up just fine, but my Advance ballast is having issues. I have it wired in correctly according to the diagrams and have checked all of my connections. The ballast fires up for about 10 seconds every 5-10 minutes and then shuts back off.
I'd make a terrible electrician, hopefully someone has some advice. Thanks!
Kyle

Is it plugged into the same plug? Try a different outlet. I had the same problem. They draw a lot of power.....and if they dont get the power they need they shut off. Or at least mine do. I have two 150 ARO ballasts....and one would fire.....and one would not......plugged them in seperatly and they both worked fine. Try it on its own......if it still wont fire......then the ballast is bad.

I tried plugging it in to another outlet by itself with no results. Guess I will just have to start the return process with Aquacave. Will probably just get another Workhorse and be done with it. Thanks fishboy

Try switching bulbs to see if maybe bad bulbs, but sounds like ballast problem.

Thanks rotties, I am going to try a little more troubleshooting this evening and will let you know how it goes. I also had a suggestion that I might have a bad bulb which is causing the EOL (end of life) feature to kick on.

Well, I tore everything down and start over from scratch wiring it up exactly as the both diagrams showed. Made sure the end caps were tight, and even swapped out the lamps from the other kits that works correctly. Now every time I give it power, it starts up for 15 seconds and shuts off for good. Getting really frustrated at this point since I've spent probably 6 hours trying to get this one ballast going.
