If you need more flow? ok! and add cabon or others for a day or two,but not any filter media.Ditrice builds up to fast and is not good.If for only adding carbon and so,I'd get that same brand but the HOT one.But if you want it for more flow also ,then the one you showed is OK.

For me personally, I bought a Kent phosphate reactor and a maxijet 400 powerhead, cost about $50 for everything, and I use it to run carbon. Is cheaper and a little less of a hassle, just food for thought.

Thats a lousy canister filter .. compared to other canister filters is a real PIA to use. I suggest you take a look at the Rena filters or something similar.

It's always fun to check out new toys; from the canisters I've dealt with I've found them to be a chore to keep up with. Hard to open, water everywhere yada yada yada

If you want to run carbon or GFO all you need is a $30 simple phosphate reactor by TLF or Kent. Dont even need a pump if you splice into your return line and rob 100 gph
