Candy Cane Coral

Ok I just got this candy cane. and it came like this on the piece of live rock. Does anyone know why it is sloughing or drooping off?

Would sure like to know if it a piece of crappy coral or is this normal?

It is not normal - as to what is causing it I have no idea - shipping shock, stresss, tons of possibilities as to why - but I would prune back any damaged /dead polyps and hope for the best on the rest (if there are any healthy ones).

That is surely not normal. Looks like it's melting and I would agree with the above suggestion.

Yeah I thought it looked wierd. I pulled the melting stuff off. Hope it survives? Wonder what made it melt like that? Something stung it?
