candy cane colony in big trouble HELP!

Quick run down

29 gallon bc
amm nitrite at 0
nitrrate 20
po4 - detectible

cal - 420
dkh-9
sg 1.026
temp 80

no skimmer runs with pc lights

softie tank with bi color blenny, target madrin, yellow wrasse and a clown fish.

Walked into Connor's room today and the candy cane colony looked like it tanked over night -

there are brown spots on all the heads - pieces of skelton exposed, looks like something ran over the top of it eating it... we do have a purple urchin.
temp might have risen yesterday - I didn't check.

could this be brown jelly? or is that just for frogspwn type corals?

sorry no pics yet we are running out the door for church

HELP!

Wow, Amy! I'm sorry to hear about that. The only trouble I had with my trumpet coral was soon after I got it. There were some brown spots, and some skeleton showing. At that time Tom suggested that I break off the brown part and do an iodine dip. But your case may be different. I hope someone posts that can give you more specific help.

Connor is pretty upset about it - obviously

( THis is in my 7 year olds tank and he has worked really hard to nurse the stuff that was given to him back to health and has done a terrific job.)

Also nothing has been added to the tank recently other than the madrin around april 12th.

Not sure what may have caused this. Not real familiar with that particular coral myself. I would be more concerned with the nitrate than the PO4. Still not terrible for a small tank.

colony is 100times worse. best guess is brown jelly

i have done and iodine dip, anyone else have info on how to treat?

Bi color blenny found dead

open brain looks to be on it's way out

there are also a frog spawn, pagoda, and torch coral that could end up with it as well... no idea is mushrooms can be affected as well.

It doesn't look like pics I've seen of brown jelly. I wonder what happened to the blenny and if it's related

could something gotten into the water?

possible but not proabable

connor says no and erin is still napping - what ever it is it's wipping out this coral super fast.

I am thinking that the water conditions ( not good) plus a death - ammonia spike plus sea urchin scrapping canes = bacterial infection - or brown jelly....

I have triple sulfa and neomycin on hand, but are not sure they will help.

Going to do massive water change now that water is ready.
